A Sheffield night out can be as crazy or as chilled as you like. The city has a huge variety of after-hours entertainment options for students who don’t want to sit in their rooms watching Netflix. Read on for some great things to do in Sheffield at night, whatever your budget.
The city has a lively nightlife scene with plenty of fun things to do in Sheffield for students on a budget.
Start your night at one of the popular pubs that service cheap drinks and have live music. Head to West Street Live for comedy shows and student events. Try unique cocktails or listen to DJs. Go clubbing or catch a movie. Bowl a late-night ten. Grab late night eats at the many food stalls at the Moor Market and end your night chilling with friends at one of Sheffield’s parks under the stars.
With so many bars, pubs, and late-night activities, you’ll never run out of ways to have fun in Sheffield after dark as a student.
Sheffield has plenty of cocktail bars if you fancy upgrading your drinks order from a lager to a Sex on the Beach.
All Bar One is a perennial favourite for students in Sheffield looking for cheap drinks and food. Happy Hour at 4 pm at All Bar One is the best time to visit if you want cocktails, as you can pick up exotic drinks for a fiver.
Revolution Bar in the trendy West One development on Fitzwilliam Street in Sheffield is another popular choice for students in the mood for cocktails. There are four bars inside to choose from, including a Sky Top bar and a Hidden Bar. Cocktails are made from premium spirits and there is a food menu, too.
Visiting bars in Sheffield is a fun way to start your evening before you hit the club scene.
Trippets Bar on Trippets Lane has a more formal vibe than other bars, but it’s fun and you can catch live music while snacking on tapas and guzzling gin. It’s also a stone’s throw from our Trippet Lane student accommodation!
Boom Battle Bar is the place to go for games, cocktails, and nibbles. If you love gaming, Boom Battle Bar is likely to become your go-to hangout on a night out.
The Botanist Bar & Restaurant in Leopold Street is a shrine to quirky interiors with an equally quirky menu to match.
There are a few Sheffield bars for LGBTQ students. Dempseys on Hereford Street offers drinks, dancing, and karaoke. It is one of the best bars in Sheffield for LGBTQ students.
Another option worth checking out is the Cubana tapas bar Sheffield. It serves tasty Spanish/Latin American tapas alongside live music and salsa classes.
